Lauren Keenan

Head Surgical Nurse

Lauren came to Vetspecs as a volunteer in 2002 while studying as a vet nursing student at CPIT and has never looked back.  Following the offer of full time employment in 2003, Lauren became the head nurse for the surgery department, where she enjoys the diversity of cases she sees.

With no two days being the same, she loves being a surgical scrub nurse, with a special interest in soft tissue procedures; a real “hands-on” experience for the many and varied surgical cases we deal with.

Outside of work she lives with her many “kids”, Jack and Rastus the dogs, Turtle the tabby, Ted and Charlie the goats and Rose, Gilby and Joe  the horses.  When she is not attending to her huge family, Lauren has an addiction to snowboarding where she can usually be spotted tumbling down the slopes.
