Kate Cambie

Internal Medicine Nurse

Kate completed her National Certificate in Veterinary Nursing at Otago Polytechnic in 2003. Shortly after her training finished she moved to Sydney and worked at a busy mixed practice. This was a great start to her nursing career.  On her return to Christchurch she chose to move away from general practice and take on a role at The After Hours Veterinary Centre. Here Kate gained valuable experience and was able to see what a vital role nurses can play. 

Kate originally started with Vetspecs as a nurse within the internal medicine department.  In November 2011, she became an integral part of the surgery team. As a surgical nurse she is working hard at developing her skills and learning from each case that she is involved with. Working along side such a dedicated team is very inspiring.  Her prior experience in business management lends itself well to supporting the growth of Vetspecs. 

Kate is an accomplished sportswoman and, when she is not at work, she can be found relaxing and training in the beautiful outdoors that the south island provides.
