Amanda Jones

Surgical Nurse

Amanda started her training in England in 1999 and after a two year course, gained her veterinary nursing qualification at the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 2001.  Since then she has worked in several varied and busy clinics in England and Christchurch.

In 2006, after nine years in England, Amanda decided it was time to come home.  She started working at Vetspecs in April 2009 where she enjoys the challanges the surgical case load provides.

Amanda spends her spare time with her horse “Troy” (who is very demanding) and snowboarding in the winter months, although she is sure her enthusiasm is far greater than her ability!  Amanda is also the owner of “Gavin” the tabby cat, whose personality far exceeds his size.  She also has a cat called Izzy who accompanied her back from England, but has since been cat-napped by her parents.
