  • Membership Examination Success for Dr Aparna Tikekar!

Congratulations are in order for our Merial Ancare SVS Surgical Resident, Dr Aparna Tikekar. Over the past 12 months Aparna has been working extremely hard towards gaining membership to The Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (MANZCVS). This has often meant studying long into the night after a hard day’s work at the clinic, only to get up and do it all again the following day. Dr Helen Milner and Dr Brent Higgins have done a wonderful job mentoring Aparna through the rigorous examination process.  The standards set by The Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists are very high. Aparna began her membership process with two written examinations in Christchurch in June followed six weeks later with a trip to the Gold Coast to complete the oral components. A nervous 3 day wait followed before candidates were told of their results. A fun evening award ceremony followed, complete with a compulsory toast to celebrate her success. Membership to The Australian & New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists marks the next step in Aparna’s journey to becoming a Specialist in Small Animal Surgery. Congratulations again, Dr Tikekar, from The Vetspecs Team!
